Busy Thursday in downtown Pullman.
Thursday in downtown Pullman, Washington was filled with multiple events that were intended to render community support and involvement. Pullman’s downtown corridor is usually calm and quiet, but with Crazy Days, Music on Main, and multiple ongoing projects, the streets were filled with members of the community. The annual sidewalk sale, Crazy Days, began Thursday with Neill’s Flowers and Gifts offering sales on select items. Many people came out to support Neill’s and businesses around the area as they prepare for Crazy Days. The event will be held from July 20 through July 22 with more businesses setting up tables.
On top of that, Music on Main featured another local musician. Dan Maher took to Pine Street Plaza, which is situated between Mela and Thomas Hammer. Maher had many supporters and onlookers come out to hear his music. If the events in Pullman were not enough, the city is also undergoing some changes. A wall of the old armory is receiving a facelift as a mural is being painted on Sanctuary’s building. Pullman High School student, Poppy Edge, is the artist behind the mural. Construction is also underway on Bishop Boulevard. Crews from Motley & Motley Construction are repaving the arterial, causing slowed traffic and dangerous driving conditions.
Thursday is not the only day of commotion in downtown Pullman. The City of Pullman is hosting Reaney Park @ Dusk on Friday, July 21. This event will feature the movie, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, for its Movies in the Park program. Admission for the event is free.
